Hi,
I'm planning to use DS1307(previously had worked on this) & MCP3421 18-Bit ADC(will be using it for 1st time) in a project, & on SAME I2C lines. But as the address for both the devices is same "0xD0" won't there be any problem? if so, how can i handle this problem.

Please Reply.

Thanks in advance :)

Regards.

Perhaps you should look at the datasheet before giving incorrect advice.

Can u please explain in bit detail what you want to say.

You can use 2 different SDA and SCL pins for individual slaves

Can you not just buy the MCP3421 with a different address?

Keith

The manufacturers put the required address as requested by the customer only if the requirement of ic's are more in number. But for general commercial purpose they maintain a standard address for devices. But i dont think he can get a slave of different address in a open market.

correct me if i am wrong. i just talked to microchip regarding this.

If you look at page 27 of the MCP3421 datasheet you will see you can buy 4 different versions with 4 different base addresses to avoid clashes; unless I have misinterpreted the datasheet.

I did not find it in my present country and nearest dealers in this country. may he has to purchase it directly from the microchip where they can service him, not from open market.but still i doubt.
Waiting eagerly for answer and solution he got from garg29.
