HI,

Just a simple query. Is it a common practice to switch the transformer in the microphone audio speaker(ie getting one with more wire turn) if you want to have a louder volume?

Have heard over a small talk with an engineer designing communication system. I have always thought this might introduce more inductance which most engineer do not like to handle?

thanks

The ratio of two resistors in the mic preamp circuit sets the voltage gain of the preamp for more sensitivity. The output power of the power amplifier sets the max loudness of the sounds.

If the circuit uses a low impedance dynamic mic then an impedance-matching and balancing transformer might be used at the input of the preamp.
