help with ultrasonic proximity kit

anyway i bought this Ultrasonic Proximity Detector Kit B214, i fully built it and tested it.

i've extendid the wires from the kit just like that one to make the sensor more flexible to move around, but what i want is to hook it up to a oscilloscope but i dont know how too with this circuit here is the schematic for it:

i want to know which one is transmitting and which one is receiving, so when i can measure the amplitude of the receiver once its hooked onto the oscilloscope. that will give me an indication of the sort of angle which ill be dealing with.
Any advise would be good thank you.
