8086 Question ?

Hi there ,
I'm interested in 8086 microprocessor and trying to figure it out , so while studying it , i found this big question which summaries every thing , i think .
" its required to use microprocessor 8086 to control the temperature of a room , the prespective temp Td = 25 , the operation of the suggested system is as follow .
if the room temp < Td , the heater will be on .
if the room temp > Td the fan will be on .
a/ Design the flow chart for the system .
b/ Design the complete system to a achieve the above requirement using microprocessor 8086 , buffers , clock generator , PPI , Fan , heater and other sensor electronic components "
I already found many documents and posts about 8086 but not a full design that can be traced and revised to really understand it .
Hope you can help .

Re: 8086 Question ?

It is hard to find a complete design like that on the web.

Re: 8086 Question ?

for such works if you use 8086 as a separate system
you use many peripheral ics and the pcb will be a bigger one in addition to
lot of software tools required.

i suggest you to use a microcontroller for this work and drop 8086.

Re: 8086 Question ?

thanks for reply guys ,
amr , yes . but i hope to find one here.
srizbf , I know that we will need many ICs . buffers and ppi , plus the ram and Rom or flash and so on . i think i can make it with microcontroller , but I'm interested in 8086 for now , I'm sure there is guys here who can help .

,,,,
I know its hard , still hope to find a solution , anyone can help ?

a book I can recommend here is
"Microcomputers and Microprocessors"
Programming,interfacing and troubleshooting
2nd Ed
Prentice-Hall
John Uffenbeck

it covers well the hardware of old-tech 8-bit peripheral chips with 8080,8085 and z80,
and then a very good chapter on 8086 hardware.
Covers serial, analog, parallel ports,memory
It covers all the basics of an old tech design like your first question asks

Cheers
