Hi all,

there are several conformal coating types but i decided to use silicon coating for the printed circuit board<burn in applications>,
,anybody there that can advise me if the following methods (brush coating, dip coating, spray coating) can perform manually?

thank you all

ren :)

Hello Ren,
The silicone coating can be but on in any method. It will be important that you clean the board first to remove any contaminants. You can use alcohol (best to use 94% or higher but 91 will work OK if that is all you have) and a brush to do this. Before you coat, make sure the pcb is dry. If there are any areas that you need to mask, you can use electrical tape or peelable masking fluid.
It will be important that the material is cured per the manufactures specifications. RTV silicone will not need to be cured with heat although heat will accelerate it. For small applications, you can easily brush it on. If you are going to spray using a Wagner or air compressor you might have to thin the silicone and use a gun with a larger spray nozzle (2mm or higher).
If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call @704-216-2430.
