Hi,

I have the netlist, how do I translate it to schematic? I tried 'import-CDL', the schematic library was set by 'samples/cdslib/sample'. It reports error: Failed to opent cellview (nfet symbol) from lib (/samples/cdslib/sample) in 'r' mode because cellview does not exist.
Could anybody help me?
Thanks.

May be the path start from the root directory isn't correct?

Hi, erikl,
Thank you. I changed the path to '~/cdslib/sample', it reported the same error. I'm thinking as long as the path is correct to find the library 'sample', it make no difference with which directory, dosn't it?

Sure it matters: You need the directory $CDS_INST_DIR/tools/dfII/samples/cdslib/sample/
$CDS_INST_DIR is the root directory of your C@dence installation.

I change the directory to where Cadence installed. It clear the last error. But there is another issue as below.
....ni.log.....
Searching for the master cellview diode--symbol in ref libs '$CDS_INST_DIR/tools/dfII/samples/cdslib/sample/': did not find diode--symbol
Created master cellview: dio--symbol in target library: 'output library name'
Usage error

I'm sure there is symbol 'diode' in library 'sample'.
Could you help me on that?

Yes, it is. Are the access rights correct?

Sorry, no. Never had this error message :-(

I have the 'r-x' access rights for the sample library. I think that's enough, isn't it?
It seems that the translating was blocked........
Waiting for help!!!

Well, if its contents (the individual devices) and their views (..., spectre, spice, symbol) have the same access rights. The actual view files therein (*.cdb) need only read access.

all the files under symbol are read only access.

One more idea: I hope, the $CDS_INST_DIR variable is declared and known in your Cadence environment?
It seems strange that it isn't expanded to the full path in your error message.

Acturally, I didn't set variable $CDS_INST_DIR. I wrote the full path, and error message shows the full path.
And I imported the cdl to schematic successfully by Laker. It looks fine.
anyway thank you, Erikl!
