Hi All,

Can someone tell me the difference between Mentor DFT tool and Cadence Encounter Test tool from Test generation / MBIST pattern generation and diagnosis of vectors point of view?

It will be very helpful. we are in the middle of deciding between the two to go with which.

Thanks

Re: Comparison between Mentor DFT and Cadence Encounter Tes

can compare between cadence Encounter Test ATPG vs Mentor DFT vs synopsys TetraMax ATPG

my ideas is cadence Encounter Test ATPG is best ,it's a powerful tools ,then is synopsys TetraMax
final is mentor DFT

my opinion, Mentor DFT tools are efficient than cadence or synopsis.

for ATPG, the compression logic by Mentor's TestKompress is really good, and the pattern count is relatively less when compared to synopsis Tetramax (i did a case study on this) not sure about cadence. Apart from the cost, I would say Mentor is better than other tools.

for MBIST, MBISTArchitect is still the most widely used.
