i need to generate a sine wave ranging from 10Hz to 200KHz.
i searched and could find many ICL8038, XR8038, MAX038 circuits.
but i could not find these ICs in the market

ANY SUBSTITUTE FOR THESE ICs??????

i found many DDS ICs in the market. is this new DDS technology replacing the analog ICs like 8038?

PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH A CIRCUIT FOR 10Hz-200KHz SINE WAVE GENERATION.

I can help you if you want an audio range oscillator. I use my PC as a function generator( sine square triangular). There is a readymade software on net which provides you with an oscilloscope and function generator https://www.zeitnitz.de/Christian/scope_en
You have to give input to LineIn of sound card with max i.p signal 1V.
You can take o.p from lineout i.e. speakers.

Re: sine wave generation

If you search the forum for 8038 related posts, you'll find currently available replacement parts or equivalent circuits for sine generation mentioned in nearly each of them...

Re: sine wave generation

audio range is till 20KHz, but unfortunately my requirement is 200KHz.

anyway thanks for your idea. it seems fantastic..... but 20KHz is too low for me...

Hi,
Did you checked it here too?: https://octopart.com
DDS (with some uP/PC controlling) is surly a good replacement for a simple 20Hz-200KHz (up to ca. 10MHz) sinus generator_you can find some offerts on eBay & diverse Radioamateur sides too :)

You can find the evaulationsboard schema of AD 9833 DDS-IC on these "Similar topic".

Re: sine wave generation

no circuit but this program is free and can generate a sine wave no problem:

which might suit your needs for the time being until you find a good circuit

Re: sine wave generation

I am leaving the 8038 circuits.....

Now working to transform triangular waves to sine. Triangular wave is obtained from a VCO chip 566.

For triangular to sine conversion I used the following circuit (in fact simulated in OrCAD)

Working perfectly...:D

I welcome all your suggestions in triangular to sine conversion circuits which are stable from 1Hz to 500KHz.

Re: sine wave generation

My above circuit requires matched transistors which comes in a single package.

I was shocked to see its price... So tried another circuit... This works perfectly...

Very low THD....

Hi,
Fine, but you need diodes with similar(selected) characteristics too!
Did you measured yur THD or is only cecked per scope pls?
