How many metal layers is available at TSMC 180nm tech.?

Hi everybody
I have 2 questions:

1- How many metal layers is available at 180nm technology of TSMC?

2- Is there any restrictions on the number of metal layers to use?

That depends your request.

It can be most as 8 I remeber. More layers more money.

Hi,
If you are in university then most likely you will have 6 layer process.
For restriction of layers: Typically all layers must be used when you consider the entire chip. As you have to satisfy the density errors.
