doubts in using PIC programmer

hi frndz ,
i am using MICROCODE PIC programmer ICD 2 when i am trying to connect i could not access it ... i have selected the COM ports as well ... i use MPLAB IDE ,
please help me in getting my doubts cleared ...

Do you mean that the programmer is not detected or the Chip is not detected or cannot program?
 

frndz ,
i could not connect to the mplab ICD 2 produced by MICROCODE , problem is it could not get connected to PC ... please reply me soon
