power in inductor from current

A flyback converter can be operated in either
discontinuous current mode (DCM) or continuous current
mode (CCM).
With the same output power, a
converter in CCM exhibits smaller peak inductor currents
than one in DCM.
why ?
what is the relationship , or say , formula , between power and inductor current?
