thermal printer interface to pic 24

thermal printer interfacing with pic controller

I have to interface a parallal thermal printer to my pic24fj256gb110 (16 bit)
after my search I found that all printer have a card along with the mechanism so now I dont want this card, and directly interface the mechanism with the pic. please help I need the protocol,and driver code for the parallel thermal printer
