ic compiler lef

Hi,

I am using Synopsys 2008.09 Design Compiler and IC Compiler, I want to convert "lef" files to "plib" files and eventually to "pdb" library files. In Synopsys Physical Compiler the "lef2plib" command does this, but I don't have Physical compiler.

What can I do? Would you please help me ?

Thanks alot.

I also meet this trouble. Can anyone help me and him?

I've read this thread: https://www.edaboard.com/threads/77998/ and the following seem a good answer but I still cannot check it

milkyway
Refere to Astro User Manual
1. Create Library
2. LEF in
3. Extract Blockage (Create .FRAM view)
4. Import .lib file (Create.TM view)
5. Antenna LEF in
6. Stream in (Create .CEL view)
sorry, i don't have the detail script at hand.

I definitely remember being able to convert technology LEF into Synopsys .tf format, however
current library creation command create_mw_lib wants Synopsys .tf file as an input.
So there is an infinite loop - to create .tf you need to create a library, to create library, you need a .tf
Synopsys tools are such a disaster when it comes to usability and price.

Edit: there is undocumented legacy command, called "read_lib" (readlib). Type it in "Milkyway" database conversion tool,
select library name, click on "Prepare physical library", click on "Import LEF", browse for your technology LEF file, for cell LEF files,
for layer mapping (can be left empty if you are comfortable with the flow). I'd recommend marking "Overwrite existing tech",
"Overwrite existing cell".

Once you run this dialog, you can use "read_lef" command which is asking for open library in the first place, that's a workaround.
