Re: How to start ARM

like we are having the basic book for 8051
8051 Microcontroller and Embedded Systems
by Muhammad Ali Mazidi, Janice Mazidi , Janice Gillispie Mazidi

similarly the book for ARM is

Arm System Developer's Guide: Designing and Optimizing System Software
authors: Andrew Sloss, Chris Wright, Dominic Symes

I don't know about the book for the 51 but I do know the ARM S-Dev-Guide. I disagree that this is the one to start with, however it might be one to understand the ARM better later on. For my part I would start with a free Insider's Guide from Hitex, available for multiple ARM7 and ARM9 devices. A link to it can be found with lots of additional information about ARM tools and so on here http://www.lpc2000.com. The focus is on the NXP LPC devices but there is also information about other ARM7 and Cortex-M3 parts.
