microntroller

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi, i want to design a simple system that can control devices at home via sms.
00: device 0 is off
01 device 0 is on
10 device 1 is off
11 device 1 is on

i have 2 pics's PIC16F84A and PIC 16F690
please the thing that i dont know(or rather blind) is how to connect my samsung j700 to the microcontroller, it has USB cable,it supports At commands,.
i need help please.

MICRONTROLLER TO PIC

Use the 16F690, the '84 is a pre-historic chip! Also, you would only be able to connect to the phone if it has a RS-232 / USART somewhere on the connector, if you want USB be prepared for a PIC24F and lots of coding headaches

MICRONTROLLER TO PIC

Hey There is one more Idea if you want to Do such a project then use GSM modem...

that will Receive the Message Decode it with PIC and then you can control devices
