emds tutorial

Hi colleagues,

Can someone help me about how can how can go from EMDS (ADS 2008) to its schematic... How can i put component? is there any example??

thx a lot in advance,

M

emds ads

after you finish your design in EMDS, ADS 2008. You click to EMDS -> Component -> Create/Update so that you will create the component of you design.

Now, you come to the schematic and import this component.

Good luck

ads emds internal port

thanx a lot mikekan but where can i found it ? the converion works succefully but i did not where is it ?? could you show me step by step pls...

thx in advance

Ah sorry dear mikekan, i found it in the library but i have encountrerd another pb which is how can i connect the components ?? the componenets could not connected !

could you use a simple example as resistance and a capacitor in parallel or in series but conntected to the microstrip line ..

pls help it's so important..

thank you in advance,
N

create component ads 2008

Did you put port in the momentum/EMDS window?

tutorial ads emds

yeah, a pb is about how can connect the component?? should i use via in the momentum ??

thx

M

momentum> component> create/update ads

in schematic you r component has connection port corresponding to EMDS port you put.

you have to define your port before Updating/Creating your schematic components, if you need a direct connection to ground, you might put via hole in EMDS window.

if the component had a proper number and well defined ports, the Create/update process works well.

emds error

Thank you a lot jayce3390 but i still have a problem.

could you make an example as R in series with C in which a microstrip line

conneted between them.. C is conneted to the ground.

or another example that you juge helpful,

i apreciate your help and thnak you in adavance,

M

what do you mean by port ? should i pust for each component two ports ??

What you are simulating in EMDS? show me a printscreen of your component in EMDS window, we need more details if you want to get precise information.
Put here some printscreens for example and I will explain you

I don t understand what you want.

It seems very easy but I don't understand exactly the problem you have.

Hello,

in attached file, you will find the file that we have discussed about it.

I know that i did many mistakes but really i could not advance..

If you have a time, pls can i send you my project to see the file carefully and make the correction..

i very appreciate your halping me..

thnx again,

M

In attached the project file..

thx a lot,
M

your component seems to be connected.

oh, and what about the schematic ?? is it ok ?

thank you,

Added after 33 minutes:

I have tried to simulate the EMDS_CIRCUIT but there was an error!!

could you simulate it to see the error as you can change the type of transistor since it's jsut a test.

thx a lot,

M

ok, you only put 2 port in momentum, that's why you only get 2 port after updating! (where you connect Term 1 and Term 2)

You need ports number correponding to connection you will need in schematic, approximately 10 ports or more.(for components around your microstrip circuit)

really i did not understand you about 10 ports or more. how ??

i have port1 (input) and port 2 (output) i think that's all..

could you correct the project and then send me it ??

many thkx

Maybe you should put ports in EMDS layout before you create the symbol (component) for schematic.
Ex. for Resistor layout design, you should put 2 ports(P1, P2). Then create the symbol by clicking EMDS ->Component -> Create/Update

If the above solution is not your answer, maybe you should read the following tutorial in Momentum, ADS (it's quite the same between Momentum versus EMDS).

Dear mikekan, jayce3390,

many thanks for explanation.. i have found that, there are type of port in ADS.

since my cicruit has two single modes and may for the others component i have to put internal and ground reference...

tnak you mikekan, for the doc that you sent me, it's interesting; are there others ??

in reality, i'm looking for a tutoral example which explane with détails the diffrent procedure..

thank you in advance,

N

I want to tell you know that the connection works when i have added the ports but what about SNP1 ? How can i connect it ?

thx again,

N

Dear colleagues,

I want just to let you know that it's okay.. thank you a lot..

Again, you will find in attached file a practical example about ports that i have missed before...This report, can be as an example, tutorial for person who want to make design with EM using ports.

thank you a lot,

N
