hey guys... i'm trying to make a mini elevator with 9-floors and i'm using stepper motor in controlling it. i'm also using pic16f877a as a microcontroller. i'm having a problem on which stepper driver to use.

i hope you guys can help me.

my stepper motor is 3v and 0.85A.

i hope to get your answers soon enough:D

stepper msad

u should use some stepper with haigh power like 15 to 20 Watt. use 5V or 12V motos as it is easily available and its circuity is also easy as compared to low voltage drives.

pakistan stepper motor

that is a good suggestion but the problem is i already bought a stepper motor so i'm just focusing on using it. so do you know which driver is the most recommendable for me to use???:|

Re: stepper motor

Actually u have a low voltage motor...That is a lil prob...U have to design a current controlled ckt to drive step motor not more than its rated voltage... Im working on the same prob...I have made current controlled step motor drive upto 5Amperes... If u can easily buy another motor with voltages greater or equal to 12V it will do u work fine....

Re: stepper motor

do you have a current controlled ckt??

may i see yours..

This is the first time that i'll be using a stepper motor, so why do i really need a current controlled ckt?? And what is its significance??

is the current controlled ckt, the driver ckt? or it is different?
does it mean i need a current controlled ckt and a driver ckt?

Re: stepper motor

Try using l297 & l298 driver pair

Use Google, You can find lot of circuits for driving stepper motors

Re: stepper motor

I havent made any soft copy of the schematic. I will send u in a day or two...its very easy...no big thing in current controlling of stepper motor. I have used PIC16F876 to generate a PWM signal...The duty cycle is controller by a pot... And the duty cycle then remains same for all the phases of step motor using OR gates...

That's great thnx a lot. i'll be waiting for the diagram:D

Re: stepper motor

i completed a project that involved keypad, lcd and stepper motor can it be of any help.

Re: stepper motor

ya it will be a big help.

can u send your schematic and program code of that...

how many volts is the input to your lcd???

stepper motor
