altera-modelsim installation error

mgls_license_file

I have installed altera-modelsim a6.1g quatrus II 7.2 free download version and i got the license file in the dat format. i have stored that dat file in the C:\altera\72\modelsim_ae location and i am showing that location to the environmental varible LM_LICENSE_FILE C:\altera\72\modelsim_ae\*.dat

but still when i try to invoke that modelsim it showing error as unalbe to check out licnese. but i donot find any license wizard in the modlesim tool for setting the MGLS_LICENSE_FILE and LM_LICENSE_FILE.

Can any one worked on this please help me...

modelsim installation

i am not sure but try MGLS_LICENSE_FILE=theportno#@hostid

it should work as it was working in my case. The LM_LICENSE_FILE wasn't working for me either....

specify port number mgls_license_file

to let the tool work you have to do the following:
in the dat file you may find a line starts with <SERVER PUT_SERVER_NAME_HERE>
if you find it so replace the phrase"PUT_SERVER_NAME_HERE" with your machine name(to know it type "hostname" in the command shell).

you to set the environment variable as you have did before:
define MGLS_LICENSE_FILE and LM_LICENSE_FILE = path to the dat file or as haneet adviced you. but please define the both.

please try it and let me know if it worked or not
 

altera modelsim port number

i have a problem from where i can get this info MGLS_LICENSE_FILE=theportno#@hostid


but port no is what i wanted to know i that the altera server port no or what.....

modelsim altera port number

setting environment variables should solve ur problem
 

modelsim flexlm mgls_license_file

you can write 1717 as the port no. i.e. to be 1717(at)hostname

type 'hostname' in the commend shell to know it.
 

definir lm_license_file modelsim

i installed the modelsim as the following steps:
1.Install, Select Full product instllation. When asked for security key, select no. When you
see License Wizard dialog, select close because license wizard don't know our license's format.
2.Use our keygen to generate license.dat, copy it to c:\flexlm directory.
3.set enviroment string: LM_LICENSE_FILE = c:\flexlm\license.dat
you can follow the steps.because i installed it successfully.

LM_LICESE_FILE i am setting it to C:\altera\72\modelsim_ae\license.dat
MGLS_LICENSE_FILE i am setting it to 1717@ hostname (kilps or the nic card number)
