    difference between decoder and encoder

A decoder is a multiply-input, multiply-output combinational logic circuit that converts coded inputs into coded outputs, where the input and output codes are different. The most commonly used input code is an n-bit binary code. The most commonly used output code is a 1-out-of-m code (which contains m output bits), where only one bit is asserted at any time.
If the device’s output code has fewer bits than the input code, the device is usually called an encoder. Probably the simplest encoder to build is s binary encoder. The outputs of a binary encoder produce a binary number that corresponds to the address of the activated input.

    differentiate encoder and decoder

Also depends on what type of device you are talking about. For example you get video encoders and decoders, in this situation it is possible to have only one input and one output.
Exactly what kind of encoders / decoders did you want to know about?

    differences between decoder and encoder

Yes, it was my mistake - I always think for digital devices, but it could be some analog device, too.

actually an encoder encodes the message signal by removing redundant bits so that it is easy to transfer
    ex: haming code
decoder is used to find the actual message whether it is rigtly coded or not

    difference between encoders and decoders

    Hi Friend,

Encoder is a electronic device that codes the data in such a way that is is needed for transmitting.

Decoder is a electronic device that converts the coded data into the original data for furthur processing.

    difference between encoder decoder

    in digital circuits

say you had 8 lines (8 lines) using an encoder you can use 3 lines to represet it (ie 000 to 111 )

    decoder does the exact opposite

    useful generally in memory unit

    difference between encode decode

encoder => convert something to a code
decoder => get message back from the encoded message

it is basically converting one code to another code depending or requirement. u can have a simple example of having data as hex form ie a group of 4 bits each and u have to represent it as a octal. thus u will read 3 bits of hex and can represent it as octals :). abhityagi85@gmail.com

    differencd between receiver and encoder

    Hi,

Encoding is the process of converting the original message into a coded one, whereas decoding is the process of taking a coded message and converting it back to the original message. The process can be an algorithm that is applied for decoding and encoding, or they could be different. The words cipher and decipher can be applied in the same way.
