Does anybody know details about the availability of 100 MIPs xx51 uControllers ?

Don't be confused with a 100Mhz xx51 uC.

[Recently I have stubled into a 80Mhz 51 uC with 4 clock-cycles/instruction - which makes it a 20 MIPs machine....]

It a real redesign of the 51 core . The cygnal chip and the new Dallas are both real RISC cpus with a PIPELINE capable of 100 mips at 100 mhz
last year i worked with the 50 mips 50 mhz version and is FAST .. very FAST !

The past 51 generation called '"turbo" (4 cycles per intruction ) didn' t have a Pipeline architecture .. so a new fetch of instructions will start every 4 cycles . with this new chips .It starts evry clock cycle !.

Dallas has the same core but their speed is just 50 mhz . Just a matter of time .. to have it 100 mhz .. And probably next year 200Mhz !

I think the genie is out the bottle .. We will see more of this in the future
There is 51 chip made in canada with a FLOATING point unit !..

There are no issues with the software the chip is 100% 51 uC .
