Hi,

I am into the Hardware testing domain and wish to switch to the development arena in the embedded sector. Can you suggest me some good development boards to practice on which are more contemporary in the market. I know a lot of MSP430s are used ... but would like to hear more of those and your thoughts. Appreciate your help.

Take a look at Atmel web site they have some dev boards for their chips. If you use an AVR then AVRFreaks is a good place to look

**broken link removed**

our company has contacted these guys and some one from delhi came to deliver and gave demos of available boards. we purchased arm and 51 boards.
10k was cost i think.

Actually, it depends on your interest any knowledge in this field..
may be you have wide range of knowledge but still for starting you have to choose the most interested area.

I suggest to you to used PIC...
there are alot of pic type that can suit to your application..

Keil boards are good

Initially for learning you should go for low cost boards made by orgs who make boards for students training, In bangalore, one org is there called emblitz, not very sure of the sp'lng but they make boards of low cost with good training module and software(online+distance)(everest infocomm)
you should try for that.
happy shifting.
