hfss multiprocessor

hi..]

i have problem in designing in hfss....im using hfss v10.im using window vista.my problem is my simulation time take very long time ( around 6 hour to 12 hours).im designing microstrip antenna.im using airbox size 350mm(5 *height)...i dont know maybe my setting is wrong...i hope anybody can help me

What about your computer ?and how to set analysis setting?

well you don't give much information at all. updating to the current version should spped things up alot

hai,
I can give you one idea that i think is the reason for that long time. you have to reduce the number of adaptive passes which u give in the analysis setup of your project .You can have it at 6.

I hope this might be your problem.

The air-box you mentioned is 35cm, so the freq you are interested in is around 430MHz, which is relatively low and hence a big time cost.

Four suggestion for acceleration:
1) To reduce the air-box size, as long as the simulation results keep stable;
2) To try the PML boundary;
3) To lower the solution freq;
4) Slightly reduce the pass number, but pay attention to one situation, that is, sometimes too few passes will lead to a fake convergence.

dont make the step size to small

If your computer is dual-core, you could go to tool->Option->HFSS Option->Solver, and set up number of processors be 2. I think it would be helpful to reduce your simulation time. Of course, the above-mentioned comments are also valuable. Good luck!

Hi

Using more cores demands a multiprocessor option in your license...

regards

i think u can use windows XP, u know Vista need more larger RAM resource.
u can upgrade RAM
