Since these three software are based on FDTD, what is the difference?
Which one is the best?

What about the CST?

Dear Caseywp,

They are based on FDTD but there are some differences of course: implementation of different FDTD (conformal, ADI), new acceleration techniques, visualization, handling capabilities of complex structures, postpro parameters, data handling, measurement interfaces, etc.

I used CST and SEMCAD X personally. I know XFDTD too. My vote is for SEMCAD X for my applications. You may evaluate yourself. I know that SEMCAD X provides full version of their software for limited time.

Best wishes,
