bandgap pm simulation

Hi, Every guy

I am fresh designer, with less experience.

From here, I saw some topics about Bandgap design. here, it is said the PM and step responce simulation should be finished to get satability.

I am still not sure what simulation should be include when designing Bandgap and how to do.

Regards,

psrr simulation

Basically, you do temperature analysis. so that u can veify whether you are getting the correct reference voltage across temperature variation with specified correction

design bandgap

Also the PSRR simulation is needed.

temperature sweep in spectre

1. DC analysis to see that all devices are in reespective region and that you have the required voltage at the ouptut.
2.DC temperature sweep to make sure you have the right ouput voltage varation with temperature.
3.Ac analysis on the loop. Make sure negative feedback is more than the positive feedback.
4.Run a transient analysis to make sure of the startup.
5. PSRR
6. Line regulation.

it's a great answer, and beyond that, I think that you can use .stb analysis to see whether your bandgap design is stable.

and what's the meaning of "Line regulation" for your 6th term? thx!

BR!

Hi,ambreesh. About item 3 how to make sure negative feedback is more than the positive feedback?

bandgap ac simulation

thank you everyone.

And i am also not sure how to do AC analysis on the loop. could you explain more detail. thanks

Line regulation means, for which input voltage range variation, the output is stable dc output value.

Ac, tran analisys should be done.
