Question on rfid range for deiferent frequncies

Hi

I would like to know in RFID, why lower frequencies have shorter read range as we can see on this website
**broken link removed**
Usually, higher frequencies have less coverage. Why in RFID is it the oposite ?

thank you

Re: Question on rfid range for deiferent frequncies

Hi,

Usually, higher frequencies have less coverage.
This depends on antenna type and RF power...

Do you know what RF power and what antenna types are used on the different systems.

And the different systems are used for different applications. You won't use an RFID system with 100m range for door opening systems.

Re: Question on rfid range for deiferent frequncies

Low frequency RFID "antennas" are actually coupled coils and use inductive coupling in the near field.
