standard cell tracks and routing pitch?

As per i know the standard routing pitch is required for

i) All the pins placement on the intersection points, so that the P&R tool finds this pins and routes over this routing pitch.

ii) Helps to avoid DRC errors (since by using via-to-via pitch distance for pitch spacing).

Q1) Is there any special reason for using routing pitch other than these?

The standard cell height is fixed (interms of number of tracks) for the continuity of VDD and VSS by placing side by seide to each other.

Q2) Is there any other reason for limiting te height of the standard cell for a particular technology interms of number of tracks?

what is routing pitch

your understanding is right, the pitch maintaing scheme is specially for the sake of P&R tool..

In case of standard cell height ; its depends on tech, the device one which used for max no of times etc will taken in consideration...hope this might sense...
