Hi, I am going to solder a dense proto board, it has over 100components with many connections to a small area board (5 by 5 inches)

I have the solder wick and sucker
Good temperature controlled soldering iron with fine tip
Glue gun

Are any specific wires better/easier to solder?
I have no soldering experience except from watching videos.

Any tips greatly appreciated for a good order/professional looking job

Thanks!

Re: First time soldering

Practice on scrap first. Have good strong lighting from at least two directions. Work from the center of the board out and from short components to tall components. Beware of large ground planes and component leads that sink more heat requiring longer to wet and flow correctly. Have some liquid flux available and use it as needed.

The best soldering tutorial I've seen on YouTube: YouTube - How and WHY to Solder Correctly

Glue gun?!
