Hi,

I have found on a board of an LCD Monitor a voltage regulator from 5V to 3,3V faulty. In the output I had near 5V, the same as the input!

This increase in the voltage damage the CPU, EEPROM, the rest of the IC's that should work on 3,3V rail?

Thanks,
Bruno

Hi Bruno, usually IC as CPU and EEPROM that works at fixed voltages are protected with internal circuit such as zener diodes. If you didn't keep for a long time (minutes) the 5V active maybe your IC are not damaged
