lcd monitor schematic

Hi everyone,

I am searching high and low for a schematic or service manual for a Hewlett Packard L1703 LCD monitor that is playing up.

The backlight dims then turns off for no reason, and with a switch off and on it happens after 3 secs. I can see the image on the screen with a torch, so its just the backlight. Visually inspected the board and nothing unusual going on. Have also tested the CCFL lamps on another power supply and they are working fine.

Any help would be really appreciated.

This kind of problem is almost allways a bad capacitor look for caps that are bulging . If you have an esr meter check them with that . since they are not expenseve you may want to replace all of the large caps in the inverter area .
