CMOS operation

How do we find out a operation region of a CMOS?. like we say, its operating active region or saturation region?.

CMOS operation

Operating region depends on the biasing..

If Vgs > Threshold and Vds < Vgs - Vt, then it is in triode/active region

If Vds > Vgs - Vt, then it is in saturation region.

Read Sedra Smith.. You can get complete idea over basic CMOS designs..

i think dineshbabumm is right, and in spectre, for operating points, you can find the "region" item, then

region=0 cutoff region;
region=1 triode region;
region=2 saturation region;
region=3 weak inversion region;

hope that can help you.
