ICD2 with 12 V

Hi,

I have an original ICD2. Can I use the ICD2 with 12 V power supply for programming?

don't apply high voltages
the best is to follow the user guide given by manufacturer

I saw your inquiring on Microchip forum for the same issue. My concept while advising you was, any 7805 regulator will work healthy at 9 V and delivers load without much problem. In fact, if they had used any LDO regulator even 6V would be suitable.As i could not get hold of original schematic, I could not elaborate further, whether to go for 6V?? That is what made me request you to follow the manufacturers specification.
