cadence 16 hardware requirements
I bought a new workstation, NOT compatible machine like SUN or HP station, assemble CPU/memory/mainboard/harddisk of varies manufacturer into one.
and I installed red hat linux 9.0 and cadence IC5141 on the workstation. but I met with a problem when using cadence ic5141.
when I open a schematic, and run simulation with Ultrasim or spectre, either post-simulation or pre-simulation, I click on the 'plot wave' button after or before the simulation finished , then a abnormal case happens, ADE/CIW and all other cadence windows quit abruptly, and the corresponding process in memory disappeared too.
this phenomenon happens frequently. my question is, what causes this problem?
the new bought machine ?
not enough memory for process? (but my memory is 16 Gbyte) video card memory?
the cadence environment sets ? or the redhat sets?
besides, I forgot to say that we have another SUN workstation mounting with the new linux station. I login the linux one, and "cd" to the dir on sun solaris disk, then run icfb. Does the problem above have something to do with systems between linux and unix?
