may i know what is the actual difference between implementation of a MPEG decoder in ASIC and FPGA.

Re: may i know ?

Usually mpeg decoders in asic are soft decoders, i.e there is a processor inside the asic, which is executing a software decoder. fpga decoders are directly hardware implementation which may be done using vhdl/verilog.
