Need help to connect mobile to hyper terminal

connect mobile to com port

hello there,
i need to connect my mobile 6610i , having DKU-5 cable or j-300 sony ericsson mobile having DCU-11 cable.. and wanna connect these mobile to computer (hyper terminal). can any body tel me the step by step detailed procedure.....its very urgent....thanks alot in advance....
 

vbscript hyperterminal

connect your mobile to serial port of computer.
make a new connection in hyper terminal
(i done it using ericsson mobile , so m telling according to dat)
select com1
port setting>>>> 9600 8 n 1
download AT commands manual from internet for your cell.
Apply those commands in hyper terminal window..

conecting hyperterminal to sony ericson

thanks for ur reply...i need to know whether i need to install any driver for the cable ...actually i m not able to make connection with my phone with com1 port... at com1 the modem is installed and if i make connection at com1 the modem replies e.g giving AT replies ok but when i wrote +CMGS=? it said "error" but all those commands regarding mobile(sms) cannot be applied...
what should i do...

how to connect mobile to com port

That would mean that your phone cannot support SMS at commands.

Try to send "AT+CMGL=?" if it still replies "ERROR"
or tyr agian sending "AT+CMGS=?" if it returns OK
 

dcu-11 terminal

i have done the same with 2 mobiles sonyericsson j-300 and nokia 6610i... i got info that these two mobiles support at commands but i m not able to make connection with them... do u know any other terminal program that can do the same job....

hpyer terminal connect to phone

you can write a vbscript with it. its simple. I even use excel to connect my phone to the PC

connect nokia phone to a pc hyperterminal

hmp.. The Hyperterminal should be easy to use if your connections are right... I can connect my T610 phone in both hyperterm and VBscript I wrote specific for my application. Since your ericon is a higher model and also your nokia phone it should connect to the hyperterminal.

ok well thanks for reply but just tell me one thing that do i need any type of drivers of the cable which i m using to connect my phone with the pc or the hyper terminal makes the connection without the drivers.plz repy ...thanks
 

connecting to sony ericcson with hyperterminal

As i recall in previous topics, n6610 family do need with a driver. I dont know for sure because i havent tried it myself. For your sony ericson, if your cable is a RS 232 connector, which you can directly connect to your serial port you don't need a driver. But if it is a USB type connector, which I think it is, you will need a driver.

A general rule, you will need a driver only to connect a DCE(digital communication equipmnet), your phone for example, if its physical connection to the hyperterminal is not RS 232. USB for example. The driver will take care of making virtual COM port for your USB connection. In my case I connected my phone to Host via Bluetooth dongle. The bluetooth driver takes care of providing a virtual COM port.

hi there by grace of Allah i was able to make connection with my mobile through hyper terminal. thank you again... but i got a little problem that i used sonyericsson j300 and it only supports messaged in pdu mode....can u tel me any rapidly available sony ericsson mobile that supports text mode....thanks again.
 

connecting phone on com1

try t610. this is the phone i used. newer phones has an option to drop text mode.

thaks i used t-630, it uses both text and pdu mode... it is working fine...
