can anybody tell more about EMI?what it is and when it comes into effect??

Not "electron-magnetic," but electromagnetic. It is influence of other electromagnetic fields - everywhere around us.

Well, if a circuit is operating at high-frequencies and radiates signals (either due to an intentional antenna connected to the circuit or due to stray inductances)....the electro-magnetic signals thus generated are capable of inducing a voltage (commensurate with the original signal) in any stray inductance (e.g. a long wire piece) and thus interfere with the normal operation of this victim circuit.

A good example can be seen if you bring your cell phone close to your monitor and dial a number.

Hope this helps.

Electro magnetic interference (EMI) is noise which produce by other circuit or same ciruit on the operation of the circuit. Generally as the frquency increases ( rise and fall time decreases ) , the EMI effect will be more.

EMI can be caused by following :

1. radiation
2. conduction
3. capacitive coupling
4. inductive coupling.

Hope it will be useful..............

Does anyone have any documentation on this?
