Hi,

May i know how to use matlab to find the peak and valley point for the hand image and use wavelet-based segmentation to crop a square image(with the principal line) from the palm image. I tried use "bwboundaries" to get the boundary of the image....but i don't know how to find peak and valley point for the hand image......
Hope somebody can guide me.....

Thank you.

try to use wavelet packets , they seems to be effective tools to extract such a features.

Hi....

Thanks a lot.....for the advices from the ali.....
I am a new learner in matlab..... SO i am sorry....because i fail to apply the wavelet to find the peak and valley point in the hand image......

Please....can someboday give me more hits, guide me to use the wavelet toolbox to find the peak and valley point, so that i can manage crop a square image from the grayscale hand image.

Thank you....
