gm over id

Hi,

I'd like to run basic gm/id methodology on nmos device to extract the plot of ft versus gm/Id, Id/W versus gm/Id, and Id/W versus vgs-vt, etc. But when I plot those relationship in calculator with "OP" operation, it does not show me the right figure (The curse is straight, it seems that cadence only give me one operating point when I sweep the dc Vgs voltage on the mosfet).

Does anybody know how to do this simulation in cadence? or where I am able to find those information?

Thanks you.

how to plot gm in cadence

Instead of using DC sweep, use parametric analysis.

If you want ft versus gm over id, you can:
1. run parametric analysis, Id being the variable.
2. Plot gm/Id, using the calculator's OP function.
3. Plot ft
4. Change the x-axis variable to be gm/id ( plotVs ).

Hope this helps
