The NCSU 1.5 is much easier to intall than the previous one , however, after installing it (i simply followed the instruction in the install example file) , I found some differences.

in release 1.4, When I attached technology library to a desgin, the following options will show up:
AMI 1.6U ABN (2P,NPN)
AMI 0.6U C5N (3M,2P,high-res))
HP 0.6u AMOS14TB (3M,sblock,thin-ox cap)
TSMC 0.40u CMOS035 (4M,2P,HV FET)
TSMC 0.40u CMOS035 (4M sblock, HV FET)
TSMC 0.30u CMOS025 (5M, HV FET)
TSMC 0.24u CMOS025/DEEP (5M, HV FET)
TSMC 0.20u CMOS018 (6M, HV FET, sblock)
TAMC 0.18u CMOS018/DEEP((6M, HV FET, sblock)

In realeas 5, when repeating the same thing, I have the following options:
NCSU_TechLib_ami06
NCSU_TechLib_ami16
NCSU_TechLib_hp06
NCSU_TechLib_tsmc02
NCSU_TechLib_tsmc02d
NCSU_TechLib_tsmc03
NCSU_TechLib_tsmc03d
NCSU_TechLib_tsmc04_4M2P

I am not quite sure the correspondence of the technology librarys between release 1.4 and 1.5, it seems that realease 1.4 is clearer when we select a library, it it possible to bring up the interface in 1.5 as in 1.4 when attaching technology library?

ncsu_cdk_dir

For me, when I create the new library and need to attach the tech library file, I do not see anything different between 1.4 and 1.5. However, for 1.5, the package file is smaller.

Re: NCSU 1.5 tech lib

that is reaaly odd. I just followed the instructions in the install example files, I still got the same result as posted previously in both AS3 and AS4. And by the way, the file metntioned in the install example fille is ncsu-cdk-1.5.0.tar.gz, but what we could get is ncsu-cdk-1-5-0.tar.gz, this is the only thing I modified. Even i could run 1.5 properly, But i did see a problem: for an existiing design with a tech lib attached to it, i could not change to another tech lib, because when I right click a design library, i did not find the option "attach tech library" as could be found in 1.4 (do you have such problm). I believe there was something abnormal during my installation, could you provide your procedures in details?

Re: NCSU 1.5 tech lib

Sorry for my late reply.

My procedure for NCSU CDK installation are:
1. You just follow the install example files in NCSU website.
2. Make the link to <Your NCSU_CDK_DIR> name "local". Copy this link file to both
<CDS_DIR/share/> and <CDS_DIR/tools/dfII/>

Let's try this and tell me the result.

Re: NCSU 1.5 tech lib

Blilix,
it works great!! just that... i have another tech from a different foundary that actually needs to link to local under tool/dfII. does that mean if i use a different tech i just switch the local's pointer? doesn't anyone think this kind of local's pointer is the clumpiest thing ever?
