audio fsk

Hi all,

could someone explain me about Audio Frequency Shift Keying? what is that? how its work...please give reference ( source/site)...
thanks

fsk audio

This was used on the early telephone modems that operated around 1 kb/s it is also used on amateur packet. It is fks of an audio tone which is sent through a voice network.

audio frequency shift keying

AFSK= Audio Frequency Shift key, is a tons of adio to transmiter data
traditionally 2125Hetz is MARK and 2295Hetz is SPACE

audio fsk modulation

Elits,

AFSK operates by sending a mark and a space, each represented by a different audio frequency, to the transmitting medium (e.g. a telephone wire) depending on the input data is a 1 or a 0 from a transmitting terminal or source (e.g. a PC)

There are some standard protocols used in the past, perhaps today as well, that I presume are obselete. However the fundamental principle is still there. You only need to decide the frequencies to use for marks and spaces. The trick is to choose such that the mark and space frequencies are not multiple harmonics of each other like the same trick used in Dual Tone Multiple Frequencies (DTMF) telephones.

AFSK was quite popular in the early 90s found in some PC application software used in Microsoft Windows 3.1 or 3.11 Workgroups for faxing some data or speed dialing to a party etc.

There is a some DOS or Windows software that does AFSK for you. You can easily find it on the Internet.

FSK is the digital counterparts of FM, you can find the technology explanation on "RF microelectronics" by behzad razavi, or any other books about digital communication, good luck

audio fsk audacity

Find some amateur radio operator near you to show you "live" what AFSK is.
Still is in use on HF, etc.

afsk bit error rate

AFSK is most used in Amateur Radio to transmitter data, with AFSK you can transmit data from 300 up 1200bps in all type of Radio how HF, VHF, UHF, in any mode AM, USS, FM how afsk is a Audible ton of audio so where you can transmit voz (audio) you can transmit data, so you can transmit by Telephone line, Radio, Cellular

send data audio channel afsk

Application field of AFSK is tphone caller ID system in PSTN that transfer telephone number and date out.

audio fsk how to

hi,
what modulation has best perfomances (BER vs S/N, spectral eff.) for data transmission over audio channel, i.e. 300...3000 Hz:
ffsk, gmsk, qpsk or something else?
