I am working on 1KVA pure sine wave inverter design. For that i want to select a microcontroller.
My requirements are
* 4 PWM outputs
* 10 ADC s
* 20 digital I/O s
* I will be using sine table for creating sine wave

Everyone has its own favourite microcontroller.

But the best unbiased advice I can give you, is to use the microcontroller for which you have the proper development tools and local support available.
By local support I mean: a friend, engineer, professor or anyone who is close and can help you in real time. When you hit the inevitable tough problems during development.

Don't get me wrong....electronic forums like these are great!
But we can't see the oscilloscope waveforms in real time, we cannot take voltage readings, we cannot see the code running on the development suite and watching all the flags, variables and code being executed.

In India Microchip is being used widely. The support is really good and datasheets are user friendly you can find lot of good controllers in dspic 30F series.

I did a similar control design in an FPGA and am repeating it for a new application now. So I'm familiar with digital control but not in micros specifically.

What about TI's line of dedicated controllers for power supplies. Some of them have special hardware for high timing resolution current mode control and high timing resolution PWM outputs.

Out of curiosity what switching frequency and loop bandwidth are you trying to hit? What ADC sample rates do you think you need and why 10 of them?
