A Switch for Analog signals

hey..
I have 2 Analog signals (which contains multiple wires) coming from 2 sources and a Device that takes ONE INPUT.
And I want to implement a SWITCH that can select which source to output into the Device.

Any idea how to do that? The signal shouldn't be distorted in any way.
here's a visual representation of what I want...

The requested device is called analog switch. Many different types available from major manufacturers (Analog, TI, Maxim, Vishay), also CMOS logic series have analog switches e.g. CD4051 or 74HC4051.

Selection criteria are signal voltage, switch resistance, capacitance, maximum signal frequency.

I'm guessing this too is a multiplexer?
 

Yes, you can call it a multiplexer. The general term is SPDT (single pole - double throw) analog switch.

But CD4051 and 74HC4051 are 8:1 multiplexers.

Isn't there a IC which has multiple 2:1 multiplexers inside? Much like the MC14551B. But that IC is very rare to find here. almost impossible.
Is there any other equivalents for this? at least a
4x2:1 Multiplexer?

The 4066 may be readily available. It is a quad analog switch. It contains 4 switches. Each switch is SPST.

It is constructed so Input/Output is interchangeable.
 

CMOS 4016 and 4066 are good analog switches. They are controlled byTTL or higher logic voltage, and input signals must be between zero and +Vcc to avoid distortion. Check specifications and suggested circuits.

" 4016 and 4066 are SPST. Im looking for a SPDT switch." If you use two sections for your one switch and invert the control voltage to one, then you have what you want. The one inverter (one transistor and two resistors) will be able to control many 4016s (100?)
