DSP project and report

i am takking a course in DSP this term and they need from me to do a project it is not softwear project it is an idea and write a report about it in 10 pages and do presntation so pleas can one give me advise in which idea i can take about and what usful information i can use it to do my report

My suggestion is to analyze how some known DSP algorithms (you choose FFT, FIR, quadrature mixer or whatever is interesting to you) depend on fixed point implementation. In other words how characteristics of that algorithm depend on precision you do the math, size of samples representation and so on. It is very practical and will help you in the future for sure.

i have just started learning DSP and matlab.I am interested in the applications of DSP in the communication field. Can you guys suggest me some BASIC topics for paper presentation.kindly mention which of those involve use of matlab coz i have just started learning matlab.

i consulted my teacher today....he suggested me few topics like "blind source seperation", " noise cancellation" and a few applications that are there in signal processing blockset in matlab....
plz tell me what all basics will be needed to work on the above topics??
