sierpinski gasket fractal antenna

hello all

I am new - please forgive if this topic has been already mentioned

I have studied the Sierpinski gasket antenna for a while.

Has anyone here fabricated and measured this antenna?

Which method did you use?
- the 'monopole over a ground plane' or
- the dipole?
and did you feed any of them ?

I am quite confused, and i could not match my simulations with
the published results (Puente / Gianvittorio)

Also, has anyone studied the Zin relative to the feed's witdh? (for the planar simulation in I.E.3D / @DS)

Or just PM me if interested to exchange experiences...

Hi,
I have build some fractal antennas but had always trouble with feeding. The only one that worked pretty good was the sierpinsky dipole. That worked good, even so the simulations (MWS, HFSS) were not sucessful. However, I also tried the siepinsky triangle to feed like a monopole over ground. The measured results were also much better than sim.
I would suggest that you just build them and measure it. The simulation on fractal antennas were not reliable and hard to understand.

ciao, Bodo

ps: let me know if you know how to feed the sierpinsky carpet
