Comparison of SIM300 and SIM900 GSM modules

Hi all,

Am in the process of selecting the GSM module for my project.

1. I came across (only) two modules: SIM300 & SIM900. Is there any others modules??


2. Am comparing the features of the modules. It seems SIM900 is 3 times costlier than SIM300. Wondered why, compared features, the only advantage i found with SIM900 is appended HTTP/FTP features. Suggest which is better.

sim900 module is better as far as my experience it is very good in GPRS applications such as uploading to cloud through micro controller is a prominent application and also it has good receiving facility than sim300 the range of reception is good. loss around modem will be less which is proved by an iit professor in a conference.
