    Normalized gain in CST

As an alternative, you can export it and re-import into any graph plotter to be normalized. Abit troublesome, but it works.

Wideband Phased Arrays - Wideband phase shift or Wideband time shift?

I am a microwave guy, and i had always thought that wideband phased arrays are implemented using wideband phase shifters. Recently, i understood from the signal processing perspective that a wideband time delay is needed rather than a wideband phase shift. Does anybody have any thoughts? I...

Efet of dielectric media on microstrip antenna

Depending on your design, loading the antenna with a dielectric results in shorter wavelengths propagating in the substrate. This usually translates to the following effects: - decrease in input impedance. - for the same size, resonance frequency decreases. (this means that you can have a...

    Looking for COTS Phaseshifters

Unfortunately, these options are mechanical and narrow band. I am looking for one with phase shifts of more than an octave bandwidth. I wonder if this is a possible option: https://beamforminc.weebly.com/ Has anyone tried them before?

    Looking for COTS Phaseshifters

Dear all, Im looking for some commercial off the shelf (COTS) phase shifters. It should be modularized, with very wide bandwidth. So far, i can only find phase shifters with less than an octave bandwidth... any ideas? It can be switched or analog, but it should at least cover the major phases...

    phase shifter recommendations

What is the frequency range that you require? Are digital (ie. switched with fixed phases) phase shifters ok?

    HFSS Port definitions

I believe you started off with using a wave port. A wave port requires its face to touch the boundary (air-box) which you have set. Once it does not touch the boundary, it gives errors. For your case, you can try using a lumped port. Afterall, it is not a waveguide antenna of some sort.

about the coax balun 's vswr

You might want to elaborate a little more. A balun, when properly designed, can perform far better than that.

    directional coupler with AWR

Perhaps you might start with knowing the technology available to you: 2D or 3D?, Substrate or MMIC?, etc. Next you have to decide on the centre frequency, amount of bandwidth needed, and the amount of coupling. Once you have decided on these factors, you can start thinking of the type of...

    Curve matching in ADS

For a small number of variables, i will recommend tuning the variables using the tuner to perform the curve fitting. It is faster, and it gives you a feel for the sensitive variables. It is usually more effective to use the optimizer for a large number of variables in a complex schematic since...

    Ansoft Turbo Package Analyzer (TPA)

This answer is a little late. I have encountered this issue a couple of times till now. It happened even for the same models, just with some slight changes to net widths, and this error occurs. If your settings are right, and your model has passed the validation check, then it could be a bug...

    Capacitance as a specification for DDR2, DDR3

Dear experts, There is a burning question that has been bothering me. When i looked through the JEDEC standards for memory such as DDR, DDRII and DDRIII, i always see this specification for pin capacitance for the various address and data pins. Why is this so? Given that these people are...

    DC Switch for 5VDC, 1.5A

5v dc 1.5 a Hi all, I need to switch between 4 identical devices of 5V and 1.5A. When i turn on device 1, devices 2,3 & 4 should be off. When i turn on device 2, devices 1,3 & 4 should be off and so on. (Pls see attached picture) CMOS compatible digital outputs are available from my PC...

switch high power I was hoping to have an elegant single IC kind of solution. Is it possible with the N-channel Mosfet/Logic Level Mosfet?
