[SOLVED] GFCI tripping when transformer is plugged in.

So I found my issue: it was the fact that I connected load neutral to the neutral bar instead of the neutral output of the GFCI breaker, that I did not know existed. I'm still confused about the dual pole GFCI however. I'll start by clarifying a bit: I didn't realize there was any internal...

[SOLVED] GFCI tripping when transformer is plugged in.

Hello I am attempting to fix my hot tub controller. The ancient stablok gfci dual pole breaker that was in there was broken on one pole so I replaced it with a square D spa box with a gfci dual pole breaker inside, leaving that box is 2x hots(black, red) 1x neutral(white) and 1x ground.(green)...

    Testing voltage on telephone poles

But if I measure at a pole where it's grounded to earth wouldn't it have to be 0v? Or 0v + whatever VD is just down the copper grounding line which would be near 0?

    Testing voltage on telephone poles

Hello I was running fibre on some telephone poles and touched the messenger and got a shock. It Wasn't huge but definitely noticeable. I'm in an insulated bucket though so it could've only traveled through fingers. So I wanted the ability to check for voltage on the messenger line. So I got a...

    Questions about Amplifier Design

Interesting, I did not realize R6/R7 had an effect on gain inside the passband frequency. So with the values of 20k/1k it is not possible to achieve anything over a gain of 20? How would one go about balancing the output?

    Questions about Amplifier Design

Thank you! I was barking up the wrong tree, trying to change the values of R3-5. After playing around with the value of R2 I found 510 ohms gave me a nice sine wave and the highest output and It is now definitely amplifying. Here is the output: So the peak voltage would be 1.73v - 1.057v =...

    Questions about Amplifier Design

Okay I will try to figure out why the output is clipping. As I said, the reason I think it is clipping is the bias current/voltage on Q5 is set incorrectly, I will re do my calculations and see if I can fix it. Although that process has me very confused. I've seen online people use the Vbe Ic...

    Questions about Amplifier Design

Okay so I have made those changes and its almost working... I am not sure how to get the ac voltage reading you guys want, when I put a cap before the load resistor the whole circuit just stops working properly and its only uV range on my output. It also now appear to be clipping off the top...

    Questions about Amplifier Design

Okay, So I just got home from work, I'll Look at redoing my calculations on the first stage. but in the mean time here is the updated circuit diagram and updated output, hopefully in better resolution. Looks like I cant edit it in to the original post but here it is: d123, I looked up a two...

    Questions about Amplifier Design

C3,C4 and R7 and R6 were added in the final portion of the paper and the only note it has states "Impedence network comprised of R6, C2, R7, C3 provides a band-pass filter response with cutoff frequencies of approximately 16Hz and 16kHz, covering most of the audio frequency range." I did post...

    Questions about Amplifier Design

Hello, I've been trying to learn how transistor amplifiers work and have been trying to build one based off of a EE class assignment I found off the internet, https://users.wpi.edu/~sjbitar/ece2201/lab/ece2201_sjb_lab7x_audio_inv.pdf As per the specifications: On the Differential Stage I set...

Push Pull converter Low output voltage?

Here is the current Sim which i have modified to include the pa-6383-al transformer the best i could. Just to make sure i didnt do any math wrong here is the formula I used to get secondary coil inductance: Np/Ns ^ 2 * PL (Primary Inductance) I'm not sure I understand how to add the leakage...

Push Pull converter Low output voltage?

you are hardly being cynical, the report is definitely omitting some details. it does list some parts that were used in it though, including the transformer. However one thing I found odd was they list PA6383-AL as their transformer which has a turn ratio of 1:1.5. But in their initial...

Push Pull converter Low output voltage?

Thank you cupoftea, This looks like it has much more detailed information than I could ever find on the small papers I was reading about push pull converters!

Push Pull converter Low output voltage?

Based on the PDF circuit diagram all of those are connected in the right way, however that diagram isnt necessarily included the entire circuit and may be simplified. The only exception is gnd as it doesnt show where they connect their ground for their pwm generator gnd to the cells/battery...
