HOW to generate short pulse with avalanche?

I have been involved in the development work on production of a high energy pulsed electron beam of nanosecond duration, which has been reported in J.Phys.E: Sci. Instr. 19 (1986) 454. Here a well-focused electron beam is first produced, then the beam is swept across a slit, by applying a 200...

    dc to ac converter...

9v dc to 9v ac inverter Comments on Inverter Circuits suggested by "IanP": Both the circuits are just suggested schemes, and need several protections and modification to avoid malfunctioning when loaded. The power transistors are to be protected from transients and inductive load applications...

need a advice choosing resistor value

Yes, you can put an inverter before, and also can get a much larger swing with an increased supply voltage in place of +5V. In other applications where you do not need voltage amplification but need more current driving capability, you can also use the ckt posted by Borber [cscs.gif] with...

need a advice choosing resistor value

Sorry, the circuit needs one modification. Just reverse the diode, connect cathode of diode [D1] to the base of Q2 [collector of Q1], and connect anode of D1 to output [emitter of Q2].

need a advice choosing resistor value

Yes, I agree with Borber. In fact I am new in the group. I am yet to learn the methods of editing the circuit drawing while answering, and I had to describe the connection. One 10K - 22K resistor may be connected from emitter of Q2 [anode of diode] to gnd.

What is used in fan regulator?

fan regulator The fan regulators use triacs, which control the power by switching the load some time [in mSec] after every zero crossing of the AC voltage of the utility supply. Thus since the load is not connected to mains for the complete cycle, harmonics are generated because of...

need a advice choosing resistor value

Hi btminzon, R3 in your “amp.JPG” has to be low for driving 80mA and when the out put is low the BC337 has to sink the current through R3 – which you may not like. Borber’s “cscs, gif” is definitely a better solution with minimum wastage of power. You may remove Q3 and connect a diode parallel...

    dc to ac converter...

ac inverter pwm chip It depends on the internal resistance and current driving capability of the 9V source as well as the load [Voltage and Current requirements]. Say if you need continuous supply of 10KV @ 1mA, the source must be able to supply the power which is more than 10W [including the...

Help me with nulling the 741 offset

offset 741 Try using a high resistance [R2] between 6 and 2, and a low resistance [R1] between 2 and gnd. The gain of the system is then ~R2/R1, and you can easily adjust the voltage at 6 to be zero! But be sure that the GAIN is not too high [not more than say thousand]. About the log amp: the...

How can I specify the B C E pin of a pnp or npn transistor?

BJT question. The forward bias resistance between C & B is higher than that between E & B
