    TCP CONNECTING problem

thanks e shade, yes i'm sure of IP and PORT. because as i told, the problem arises only in 10-20% of cases. besides, when i try to send data by the URL through internet, there's not any problem and i always receive the expected reply of the sit. so, the problem must be elsewhere!(?)

is there anyone to answer my question?! I'm still waiting for your reply:-(

    TCP CONNECTING problem

I checked the signal level by "AT+CSQ" command and it returned "+csq: 24,0" (rssi=24,ber=0). I dont know if these values are high enough for establishing a TCP connection or not(?).if no, maybe we can conclude that the signal level is blame! however i'm working indoor, here, other mobile phones...

    TCP CONNECTING problem

thanks GSM Man, I've experienced the variability in different commands to reply! i should have mentioned that to find failures, i use delays, run the system(mcu and module), and simultaneously monitor Rx and Tx lines by PC(hyper terminal). concerning SIM508 datasheet(my GSM module), the order...

    TCP CONNECTING problem

hi all, i'm working on a mobile positioning project. i wana send some strings to a specified site, by using two gprs_init(only for initialization) and gprs_send functions as below: //---------------------------------------- void gprs_init() { putsf("AT+CIPSHUT\r\n"); delay_ms(100)...

how to get GSM module IP address?

how to get a GSM module's IP address? Hi all, i'm working on a mobile positioning project. i wana transfer some sentences between GSM module(sim508) and a server(an individual internet site). i can easily send strings to the site through "AT+CIPSEND" command, because i know the IP address of the...

    gprs connection error

Hi all, i'm trying to send data from a sim508 gsm/gps module through gprs. but sometimes (in 70% of cases), the module can't connect to the gprs network. coz as i test it with PC,after sending "AT+CGATT=1"(attach to GPRS service) for several times, it receives "+CME ERROR: 107"(gprs connection...

    SIM508 EVB uart problem

hi all, i'm working on a positioning project, using a sim508 evaluation board(evb) and a simple board for an atmega32 micro controller. i have problem connecting these two together through usart(Rx and Tx pins): both evb and avr board are working well independently (while testing with PC), but...

SIM300 charging question (VCHG and VBAT)

hi again!! i measured the current drawn by different parts of system. the whole system draws about 170mA (gsm:30mA, gps:110mA, the rest:30mA) as u can see, the gps module consumes a very high current(either while sending NMEA messages or doing nothing!!) as a result, i'm not able to charge the...

SIM300 charging question (VCHG and VBAT)

tnx for the link; it was very helpful. i tried to measure the current drawn by the whole circuit; using an ampere meter in series with the battery line. but the amount of current is strangely high!(about 300mA for mainly a gsm, a gps, and a micro controller) should i try any other way for...

SIM300 charging question (VCHG and VBAT)

tnx GSM Man for useful replies! i've studied the LM317 datasheet from ON semiconductor there is an option for a 2stage regulator:(figure 1)Vin=32-40 and one for current limiter:(figure 2)Vin=25 do i need lots of diodes and MOSs just for charging a battery, by means of the GSM internal charging...

SIM300 charging question (VCHG and VBAT)

    1) the 2-stage LM317 regulators need at least 25V minimum input voltage, thats too much 4 me. cuz i have to charge the battery using a vehicle battery(max 12V) 2) i've a more important problem: i'm using a nokia cellphone battery to supply my system, which includes a GSM module, an atmega16...

is the GPS really cut off?!!!

although jamming and some other parasites may affect on GPS satellites, hardly ever it causes the gps module, a permanent interrupt or destruction. at least there are some special hours that there r no parasites in ur country or city. so; check ur system operation in that time.

SIM300 charging question (VCHG and VBAT)

tnx a lot, that's great! but unfortunately i couldn't find this regulator in my country!! can i use a simple 7805 regulator which it's output current is limited to 300mA instead? Besides, is there any easy way for finding an equivalent (replacement) for some electronic parts? i'm using some...
