Hi, I also own a Philips FW41. I was using it for many years with my TV. The spatial sound function DOES work with AUX-TV. I think you should start checking for faulty resistors and caps following the AUX-TV audio signal traces on selector board and main board...
Hi, this fault is common in old TV sets. This may be caused by ripple in the power supply (around 200V) of RGB output circuit. Look for dried up caps around CRT neck. These caps are usually rated 4.7-10uF, 200V. Also check the small caps around FBT. Small caps are hard to check so use a...

Re: Service tip/ manual required for a Chineese made DVD pla
Hi,
First check the power supply board for other faults. Try measuring the voltage by giving some load (using 500-1K resistor). If the voltage seems to be ok then there is a fault with the rest of the system. I think the power...
Re: Philips FW40
Thanks for the file but I need schematic of the front board of FW40. This PDF contains all about power supply board. If anyone has schematic of the front board then please send it to me.
Check the charger if it gives the recommended ouput voltage which is usually given on the charger. Slight differences are ok. If the voltage is low then your charger if faulty. If the charger gives high voltage then both the charger and battery are faulty.

hi fi with 7 display
There is a 30V negative bias for the two display tubes. If the display is too dark or flickering check the 1000MF 10V capacitor for leakage. If the cap. is ok then check the BD236 transistor connected to a heat sink. Also, check the safety resistor near that transistor...
