    Hard disk with irritating problem......

    Have you run any diagnostics software on it? If not, download the appropriate Seagate Sea Tools app for DOS or Windows, and run it. It sounds like your disc might be failing. The above app should tell you if it is.

    Thanks LvW, That's the sort of answer I was expecting/hoping for. After all, the thermistor isn't actually being used to measure the temperatue as such... It just lights a bulb. These are the actual specs for the RL2004-582-97-K...
